Accomplishment for the day:
Grade 2 came up with names and cheers for the Yom Haaztmaut school-wide celebration for next Tuesday. Hip, hip, hurray!!
*The following students need to have a journal [and actual journal or tablet] and be writing in it at home on a daily basis, then turn it in every Tuesday: Asher, Arya, Tal, and Isabel
Dear Parents,
Some of you had questions about the Yom Haatzmaut collage project. The school should be sending correspondence to you. Also, the collage piece is due on Friday. Each student should have taken home ONE squarish piece of poster board to be elegantly decorated [in any art media] using mainly Israeli colors and other necessary accents. It is to be returned, preferably, to the Jewish Studies teacher.
Tonight's homework:
1. Reading log and Journal
2. Study the Spelling words and how to use them in sentences. Test is tomorrow. From now on, tests will be dictations of sentences, as suggested in the curriculum. I will dictate several sentences. Students will write the sentences and underline the lesson words.
Students will be graded on:
1. Spelling the lesson words correctly and using capitals should they require them (at the beginning of sentences)
2. Proper sentence structure, which includes initial capitalization and end punctuation
3. Dictated words are all written and in the correct order
3. LEAP Nutrition activity is due tomorrow.
4. Some students have extra studying to do and other work to correct
NOTE:
Because I have been mainly independent in teaching and in housekeeping for Grade Two, please let me know via the Communication Book if your child needs another book from the classroom to read. Students have been choosing their own books, which is a benchmark for them to reach in preparation for grade 3.
Shalom
