Clarification

Clarification is needed for some math terms.

Arrays: Any item or items that are situated in a grid-like form, i.e. 4x4, 3x6, 5x1, or 7x2

X: When grade 2 sees this symbol, they say "groups of" or "rows of."

3x4 is 3 rows of 4

ROWS: Rows are horizontal. (Columns are vertical. Students haven't been taught "columns in Grade 2 yet.)
