Homework

1. Reading Logs: Leeor, Mia, Oz, Rafaela, Romi, Ronnie, Yali, Asher, Isaac, and Arya turned in their Reading log today. Educational standards require second graders to read for at least 10 minutes every day. My requirement is for students to read every day, and for 60 minutes or more of reading time to be accumulated each week.

2. Journal entry: Today Isaac, Leeor, Mia, Rafaela, Jake, Ronnie, and Yali turned in their journal today. That's 7/16 of the class. Help us to increase that fraction towards one whole.

3. I.T. Just for fun, students can explore this site for interactive math and literacy practice.

Ronnie, Mia, Yali, Isabel shared their favorite songs today.

We Are The World
Rainbow Connection sung by Kermit the Frog
You Belong With Me
Over The Rainbow by Connie Talbot

Students are practicing 2-digit subtraction this week. They are almost at the end of the chapter. They have honed their arithmetic skills, and even practiced their reasoning skills and checking skills. The test will be on Thursday.

Immediately following will be our unit on MONEY. Students will learn to count American currency up to $1.00. This unit will be followed by COUNTING HONG KONG CURRENCY. Students will practice counting Hong Kong currency. We will be working with coins and bills. You can help your child practice by counting money with him or her.

Announcement: Miss Lital is out ill this week. Let's keep her in mind and wish good health for her.
